Isle of Skye voted as Britain’s most desired place to live
In a recent survey by Rightmove, the Isle of Skye has been named as the country’s most desired place to live.
The Scottish Island received the most votes in a survey of nearly 24,000 people. The top ten consists entirely of islands, seaside towns and rural areas, strongly suggesting that Britons want to escape from the city and get a room with a view. The Devon seaside resort of Woolacombe came in second, followed by the market town of Callington in third place.
Skye may at the top of the list in terms of popularity, but it’s not the most expensive place to live — that honour goes to 8th place Salcombe, with an average asking price of £635,083.
